The consortium of entities involved in the Grundtvig project “Key Competences for all” (Employment Toolkit) met in Barcelona to celebrate the kick off meeting at Esplai’s headquarters. The main objective of this initial meeting was to create a sense of team among the professionals involved, to get to know each other better and to discuss overall issues about the project.
During two intensive working days, a common picture of the whole development process was set and a unified and detailed calendar was agreed to start all the tasks under the same understanding and criteria. Indeed, establishing a communicational strategy to maintain and coordinate the work was something all partners valued and appreciated to have designed from the beginning as well.
As part of the initial activities, an awareness raising workshop was held to reinforce the connection of the project with the European policy context (notably, the New Skills for New Jobs EC communication). Sharing key policy documents was relevant to create a good conceptual knowledge as a starting point of the project.
Every partner presented their own strategy regarding the work package each one leads, showing the rest what the main goals were and what the expected collaboration from other partners was in order to improve the constant and progressive work.
Administrative issues took a while to be clarified since it is the first time participating in a European project like this as a group, even if some of the partners have done it before in other calls.
In addition, informal meetings to dinner in town were programmed in the agenda, creating this “easy going” momentums and social conversations also needed in an intense working sessions like this one.
The general feeling at the end of the second day was very positive and enthusiastic, and a date and place for the second meeting were already fixed.
